Custom Jewelry Design Process

This is the basic process:

Step 1 - First, through email or over the phone, we will discuss your ideas and preferences. I use the following checklist to make sure that I am understanding what you are envisioning:

• Type of item (bracelet, necklace, etc)
• Metals (gold, silver, other)
• Perferred colors or color scheme
• Any specific gemstones, or types of beads in mind?
• Type of wear the piece will see (is the wearer hard on jewelry? is a delicate piece appropriate?)
• Style of item (formal, casual? when will the item be worn?)
• Size/Length
• Price Range
• Desired delivery timeframe

Step 2 - Next I draw up some examples of various designs, including thoughts and photo examples of materials. I then convert my drawings to electronic format and email them to you. We again "meet" and discuss the designs, where I will ask you for your opinions and suggestions. At this stage I may also put together prototype swatches to either better illustrate what can be done, or as a "Proof Of Concept" to ensure that a design could be translated from a 2-d drawing to a 3-d real world item. We continue like this until we arrive at a high level design.

Step 3 - If necessary, I will order or purchase the materials, then create the item. A final price will be determined and a photograph of the finished piece will be emailed to you along with a detailed description of the overall size and materials used, for your approval. If approved, I will have you send payment then I will package the item and send it off to you.

Custom Design Policy

Delivery - The length of time it takes to compelte a custom design is largely due to the efficiency of communication with the customer and the availabiltiy of materials. For instance, more time will be needed if their is lag time between emails or if materials have to be ordered from remote sources. Usually, however, a design can be ready for delivery within one to four weeks. Shipping charges will be included in the price quoted.

Return Policy - Custom designed jewelry is not returnable. I guarantee the piece will match the photographed item you approved and the description including size that was provided at that time.

One Of a Kind Guarantee - I guarantee your custom designed jewelry item will remain one of a kind - I will not reproduce the item for sale. I may, however, use photos and description of the item in my online gallery or in advertising materials.
