About Karen
I have been involved in art and design in one way or another since I was a child. My passion for creativity has lead me to study numerous creative outlets including drawing, painting (oils and watercolors) and photography. I hold a degree in Industrial Design and worked as a Package Designer for many years designing retail packaging, shipping boxes and point-of-purchase (POP) displays.
Jewelry design is my newest endeavor. I believe I am fully addicted. I have always been drawn to 3-dimentional design over 2-dimentional and love the fact that I can work in a small studio in my home. Very refreshing considering most of my Industrial Design projects have required table saws and milling machines!

About the Jewelry
I strive to maintain quality in materials and craftsmanship in all my pieces. Unless otherwise noted, all metal is either Sterling Silver or better, or 14k Gold Filled or better. I select quality precious and semi-precious gemstones and crystals. Most items are strung on nylon coated steel beading cord with special attention paid to connections. See the materials page for a detailed discussion of the materials I use in my work as well as materials common to beaded jewelry in general.

If you see a piece on the site that you would prefer in a different color, material or size, feel free to email me. Quite often I can create the same piece with substitutions at little or no extra charge.
